| Our 5,660 yard (par 70) course, built to USPGA specification, was originally designed by Henry Cotton and has been subsequently extended by Donald Steel. It is both challenging and enjoyable, featuring a mix of hazards through parkland and woodland copses.
Because it stands on a chalk sub-strata, with a constant drainage system, we are able to offer year-round golfing on permanent tees and greens. The Coach House bar is perfectly placed for the 19th hole and offers all-day breakfasts as part of the menu.
Annual membership is available on a 7-day and 5-day basis, and there are special rates for ladies and junior members.
If you wish to include golf in your stay at the hotel, either as a private individual or as part of a corporate event, we have a number of packages to whet your appetite based on per person rates and including various food options. Or, there is a simple ‘Pay and Play’ option for non-members, with concessionary rates for seniors and students.
Set in a Georgian-fronted building, The White Horse Hotel offers traditional charm and period features. With extensive mature gardens, the hotel is just 2 miles from historical Hertford town centre.
The refurbished rooms all feature air conditioning, and some have scenic views over the gardens. All rooms have en suite bathrooms, and are traditionally decorated with elegant furnishings. Rooms also have a cosy seating area and tea and coffee facilities.
The historical hotel interior dates back 400 years, with exposed oak beams and an open fireplace. The All Seasons restaurant serves a traditional British menu and features a conservatory, and the lounge bar offers a selection of beverages and has a garden terrace.
Hatfield House is just 15 minutes’ drive, and Paradise Wildlife Park is only 5 miles away. With Stansted Airport just 30 minutes away, there are a number of golf courses within 10 minutes. Hereford North Railway Station can be reached in 5 minutes, offering trains to central London.
